Michael Broili, principal of Living Systems Design, can be retained to to teach classes, lead seminars or as a featured speaker on topics of interest related to environmental systems and water management. Mr. Broili's focus is on the low impact, environmentally-sound improvements that can be made to home or municipal water systems, and on the larger ecological picture - how we manage our water use and impact habitats and eco-systems with our choices. He enjoys educating people and organizations on integrated water management techniques, technologies and products.

Speaking engagements are arranged through our office. Fees for a speaking engagement are negotiable but typically Mr. Broili's standard rate per hour plus mileage or travel costs from our office in Seattle will apply.

Mr. Broili currently teaches classes for the Edmonds Community College. He also teaches and administers classes as the director of the Well Home Program at the Phinney Ridge Neighborhood Association in Seattle. He has taught numerous seminars and addressed a wide range of interest groups. Recent speaking engagements include:

  • Build a Green Walla Walla Project, Walla Walla Resource Conservation Committee
  • King County Public Health Staff Conference
  • Washington Conservation Corps Sustainability Course, WA State Dept. of Ecology
  • WSU Low Impact Development Certification Course

Mr. Broili has numerous certifications, including Certification in Low Impact Development, Sustainable Building Advisor, Permaculture Educator, Compost Facility Operator, Green Roof Development, and in Building and Selling Sustainably Developed Homes.
